Popsicle Ice Pops

Did you know that the invention of the popsicle ice cream was an accident? Imagine 11 year old Frank Epperson in 1905…On a cold winter night he left a mixture of soda powder, water and a stirring stick in a mug in his porch. The next morning it was stuck together as a frozen pop. At the time he still called it “Epsicle”. His friends at school loved this treat and he fine-tuned it over time.

In 1923 finally Frank Epperson changed the name to “Popsicle” and applied for a patent. We are still thankful for this ‘accident’…
